Description
The new PIAA LED (Light Emitting Diode) Fog light kit offers the beam control of a halogen light with the low power consumption and durability of an LED light. As a light source LED's offer several advantages over their halogen counterparts including very low power consumption, compact size and durability. Unlike most LED lights currently on the market that position the LED aimed straight out forward the LP530 Lights aim the LEDs at the reflector. This new orientation of the light source allows for far better beam control and output than the conventional layout. In place of a traditional halogen bulb each light uses two 3W LEDs producing a very white beam with a color temperature of 6000 Kelvin. LEDs with a computer designed multi-surface reflector gives a true high performance fog pattern in a lightweight, durable light that requires a fraction of the power used by a comparable halogen light.

I ride my motor scooter in an environment that combines frequent fog with too many kamikaze deer. These lights allowed me to see a party of four deer leisurely crossing an unlit two-lane highway during darkness ahead of when I would have gotten into trouble. Fog lights for motor scooters are very useful because they also let you see road textures. These lights are excellent on many levels. Their relatively superlow electrical draw doesn't tax the typically puny battery of a motor scooter. These lights are small and very bright. They are easy to aim (and can only be mounted vertically) and seem very well built. The wiring harness is of very high quality.Mounting these lights can be a challenge on many motor scooters. I recommend you purchase a pair of Smittybilt 7690 Black Light Brackets and have them mounted near the bottom of the leg shield. The PIAA LED fog lights can then be mounted on the brackets cleanly.The only drawback to this light kit is that the on/off switch is challenging to activate with one quick attempt while wearing riding gloves.
